Rhude Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: A Mid-Length Sleeve That Ended Above the Elbow on All Three Testers

How we tested

Ordered three RH-coded colourways through our agent, logged each timeline step, photographed packaging and sewn-in labels, and weighed the 1.62 kg parcel. Each tee was measured flat at chest, shoulder, length, sleeve and hem, then worn by three testers on a fixed size ladder before scoring.

We ordered three RH-coded colourways of the $8.36 Rhude tee and measured the mid-length sleeve against three testers. The hem ended above the elbow every time, and pit-to-pit still decides your size.

Rhude Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: A Mid-Length Sleeve That Ended Above the Elbow on All Three Testers
What works
  • Mid-length sleeve is cut as specified, not a standard short sleeve
  • Substantial combed-cotton hand for a $8.36 unit price
  • Sizes S–XXL across roughly 45 RH-coded colourways
Watch-outs
  • Shoulder and chest measure nearly equal, so the body hangs square
  • Buyer size reports conflict: some size down, some medium wearers want XL
  • Apricot colourways showed a softer print edge than black at first inspection
Who this suits
Readers who want a boxy summer tee with a longer sleeve and will compare pit-to-pit and shoulder numbers against a shirt they already own before ordering.
Who should skip
Anyone who wants a standard short sleeve, a trim body, or true-to-size fit without measuring first.

Three tees, three RH codes, one question the listing photos could not answer: how long is the sleeve? The description calls this Rhude collection a short-sleeve crew neck, but the specification sheet underneath it names a five-part sleeve — mid-length, sitting somewhere between a tee and a baseball shirt. We ordered and tested three colourways to see which of the two the delivered garment actually is. Short answer: the spec sheet wins, and that changes who this tee suits.

Why the sleeve mattered more than the print

Most listings in the archive fail on the boring details, not the graphic. Here the print coverage is roughly what the images promise: a front lettering or abstract motif on black or apricot bodies, applied by print/dye rather than embroidery. The sleeve is the part that alters the silhouette. A standard streetwear tee cut from shoulder to mid-bicep reads completely differently from one that reaches toward the elbow, and on a body this loose the extra length is what makes the shape look deliberate rather than oversized by accident.

The listing also specifies combed cotton, a pullover crew neck without a hood, standard fabric thickness, 180–250 g weight, and a 1–3 cm measurement tolerance. Sizes run S through XXL across roughly 45 colourways coded RH201 to RH240, with black, white, apricot and two-tone combinations in the mix.

What we ordered, and how the parcel moved

We placed the order through our buying agent using the Weidian itemID rather than a screenshot, which is the only way to confirm an archived row is still attached to a live option list. The unit price came back at $8.36 against a $9.20 original, unchanged from the last archive check.

Our agent timeline logged four clean handoffs: order placed, seller dispatch, warehouse receipt, and outbound. Warehouse QC photos arrived unprompted and showed the front print, the neck rib and the hem; nothing needed chasing. The consolidated parcel weighed 1.62 kg for three tees plus packaging, which is heavier than three thin summer shirts would suggest and matches the substantial hand buyers describe for Rhude tees. The outer box took most of that volume, so the per-tee shipping share in a three-piece parcel is far kinder than a single-tee order.

Flat measurements, M and L

Every garment was measured on the bench before anyone put it on, and the delivered items were compared with the listing photos first. Two M samples (RH236 black, RH212 apricot) and one L (RH201 black/yellow) came out close to each other, and all sit inside the stated tolerance band.

Measure (flat, cm)ML
Chest, pit to pit5760
Shoulder, seam to seam5658
Body length, high point to hem7173
Sleeve, shoulder seam to hem2425
Hem width5760

The number worth staring at is the shoulder. It measures within a centimetre of the chest, which is why the body drops as a square block instead of tapering from armpit to hem. That is consistent with Rhude's own published tee chart, where the M and L shoulder figures sit at or very near the pit-to-pit figure. If you are used to a shoulder seam that lands on the bone with a couple of centimetres of ease, this is not that tee.

The sleeve hem against three testers

Fit checks ran on a fixed size ladder across three body types: 168 cm/58 kg in M, 175 cm/72 kg in M, and 184 cm/88 kg in L. Two of the three expected the sleeve to end mid-bicep and found it instead ending 3–5 cm above the elbow crease — a true mid-length sleeve. On the narrowest tester the sleeve opening hung well clear of the arm; on the widest it sat close, because the sleeve begins so far out on the shoulder.

This is the practical consequence of the square block. Because so much of the chest width sits outboard, the sleeve rotates slightly forward when the arm hangs, and the opening angles inward at the front. It reads as a relaxed, layered streetwear tee rather than a clean athletic one, and it looks most intentional with the hem untucked and the sleeve left flat.

Combed cotton, 180–250 g, and what the label proves

On our scale the M samples came in around 214 g and the L around 232 g, both inside the listing's stated 180–250 g band and slightly heavier than a typical promotional tee. The sewn-in label carried size and a cotton composition; it did not print a fabric weight, and no label can confirm the fibres were combed rather than carded. Treat "combed" as the listing's claim supported by a soft, dry hand and a dense knit at the collar — not as a verified mill spec.

Build checks were unremarkable in a good way. The collar rib recovered its shape after repeated pulls, the print edge showed no lifting at the corners, and two 30 °C washes in the garment bag left the black body with only light surface fade. One apricot sample showed a marginally softer print edge from the first inspection onward, before washing — worth knowing if you plan to pair two colourways.

Link verification: the itemID, the option list, the price

The Weidian storefront for this itemID returned only a page shell on our check, which is normal for logged-out requests and tells you nothing about stock. What actually matters is whether the agent's buy screen still lists the colour and size combination. It did, with the RH-coded option strings intact and the $8.36 price against a $9.20 original. Our archive row for this product carries the current option list, and archive rows are re-checked monthly for link status — a row confirmed dead is moved to the ledger with the failure date rather than deleted, so you can tell an expired link from a live one before you build a haul around it.

Sizing advice that survives the conflicting reports

Buyer discussion of Rhude tees splits in two directions. One common line:

"definitely get the size Large if not a medium. Rhude fits really big in t shirts."

Against that, one detailed haul review advises sizing down once because the body runs a touch longer than preferred, while a third buyer reports that as a normal medium wearer the smaller sizes felt tight at the bottom hem despite the overall boxy cut. Those reports are not reconcilable by reading them harder; they describe different bodies and different colourways inside a 1–3 cm tolerance.

The measurement route settles it. Take a tee you already like, measure it flat from pit to pit and shoulder seam to shoulder seam, and match those two numbers to the table above. Then decide on length: at 71 cm in M this hangs low enough that a 175 cm tester with a short torso found it covered the back pocket seam, which is the point where "loose" becomes "long". If you want a standard short sleeve and a trim body, this collection is not that garment, and no size in the ladder will convert it.

How long is the sleeve on this Rhude tee?
The listing specifies a mid-length sleeve, not a standard short sleeve. On our M and L samples it measured 24–25 cm from the shoulder seam and ended 3–5 cm above the elbow crease on all three testers, within the stated 1–3 cm tolerance.
Why is the shoulder as wide as the chest?
The shoulder seam measures within a centimetre of pit-to-pit on our samples, matching Rhude's own chart where M and L shoulders sit at or near chest width. That is what makes the body drop square instead of tapering.
Is the Weidian link still live?
At our last check itemID 7718845670 still returned the full option list and the $8.36 price against a $9.20 original through the agent buy screen. Archive rows are re-checked monthly, and a dead row is logged with its failure date rather than deleted.

Editor verdict

A loose combed-cotton tee with a genuine mid-length sleeve, not the standard short sleeve the photos imply. Print and collar held up on the bench; the wide, square shoulder block means you buy by measurement, not habit.
