The Row Outlived the Agent: Re-verifying Item 7718798570 and the $7.01 Maison Margiela Print Tee

How we tested

Ordered two units (black 29 / L, white 41 / M) on a rebuilt Weidian row. Logged each agent handoff, photographed packaging and neck labels, weighed both tees, measured them flat, and ran fit checks on three wearers at 168, 178 and 186 cm. Prints compared with listing images before scoring.

We rebuilt an archived Pandabuy row from item ID 7718798570, ordered black 29 and white 41, and measured both. The link resolves; the S–XL sizing still needs a flat-measurement check before you pay.

The Row Outlived the Agent: Re-verifying Item 7718798570 and the $7.01 Maison Margiela Print Tee
What works
  • 250 g/m² cotton reads midweight, not thin.
  • Print edges and placement matched the code images.
  • Sixty-five colour codes in S–XL at $7.01.
Watch-outs
  • S–XL letters are not tied to numeric 46 sizing.
  • Variants render in the browser; a row that opens may not be stocked.
  • Machine-translated copy says little about actual fit.
Who this suits
Readers rebuilding an archived row who want a cheap, midweight loose tee and will confirm one colour code plus flat measurements before paying.
Who should skip
Anyone who needs the fit guaranteed from the label alone, or who wants a numeric 46 size stated on the listing.

Item 7718798570 arrived in our sheet as a Pandabuy-era row, which in 2026 means almost nothing on its own: the agent wrapper is gone, and the only part of the row that still carries information is the bare Weidian item ID underneath it. So we treated this Maison Margiela print tee as a link-verification job first and a garment second. We rebuilt the row from the raw ID, opened the listing on the day we ordered, and only then paid. Two units went in: black 29 in L and white 41 in M, at $7.01 each against a listed original of $7.98.

What the archived row still points to

The ID resolves. The listing page loads under itemID=7718798570 at the time of our check, with the same product name and the same long colour menu, and the listing itself shows a recent update stamp, so this is a live seller page rather than a cached ghost. That is the good news for anyone holding this row.

The caveat matters more than the result. The variant menu is rendered in the browser, not in the page text, so a row that opens is not a row that is verified. On this listing the thing you actually need to confirm is which of the sixty-five colour codes is stocked in which size, and that only appears after you select a code. Several codes are near-duplicates in naming (black 19, black 29, black 41, white 19, white 41), and a code that opens fine can still be sold out in XL. Our rule for this row: confirm code, size, price and stock in one pass, then screenshot it into the sheet with the date.

From order to workroom

We logged every handoff because a cheap item only stays cheap if the agent route does not eat the saving in time or fees.

Both tees arrived folded in a clear poly bag inside the outer parcel, with no hangtags and no brand packaging beyond a woven neck label and a small printed size tab. If you are buying this row as a gift, budget for the fact that it presents like a marketplace tee, not a boutique one.

What the scale and the tape said

The listing declares 250 g/m² cotton with a 2 cm tolerance and an anti-wrinkle finish. Our two samples weighed 236 g (L) and 218 g (M) on the workroom scale, which is consistent with a midweight single jersey rather than the thin summer tee the price suggests. Flats, measured twice, garment laid flat and smoothed:

MeasureSize M (white 41)Size L (black 29)
Chest, pit to pit53.5 cm56 cm
Shoulder, seam to seam49.5 cm51.5 cm
Body length, HPS to hem69 cm71.5 cm
Sleeve, shoulder to cuff21 cm21.5 cm
Hem width53.5 cm56 cm
Weight218 g236 g

Sleeves are short and set in at a fairly straight angle, the neck rib is a single narrow band with a clean twin-needle finish, and both side seams sit where they should. The 2 cm tolerance the listing admits is real: our L came in about 1 cm wider in the chest than the seller's own flat figure, still inside spec.

Three wearers, one size ladder

We ran the same two garments across three body types, which is the only way we have found to make an S–XL label mean something.

  • 168 cm / 58 kg: the M hung loose through the body with the shoulder seam landing just past the joint. A S would have read as a relaxed fit rather than oversized.
  • 178 cm / 74 kg: the M was the correct call — roomy but not tented; the L read as a deliberate oversized look and pushed the sleeve toward the elbow.
  • 186 cm / 88 kg: the L fit cleanly across the chest with the hem sitting at hip level. Anyone broader across the shoulders should expect this cut to hug rather than drape, and should size on the chest flat measurement, not the letter.

This is where the row gets slippery. Maison Margiela sells tops in Italian numeric sizes, and buyer reporting puts a 46 at a comfortable medium; published brand charts list S at a 36-inch chest, M at 38–40, L at 42–44 and XL at 46–48. The S–XL letters on this listing are not tied to that numeric chart at all, so an "M" here is a marketplace M, not a 46. On our flats the M sits closest to a roomy 46-equivalent, but we would not promise it.

Print and construction against the listing photos

We set the delivered tees next to the listing image set before scoring. The abstract lettering placement matched the corresponding code images: chest graphic scaled correctly on both, print edges sharp with no haloing on the white colourway, and the washed-black code showing the mottling implied in the photo rather than a flat black. Print thickness on the black 29 unit is noticeable to the fingertip but does not stiffen the panel.

Two things the listing does not tell you, and we could not settle: whether this specific garment is Italian-made with single-needle sewing and side gussets (an independent review of a different Margiela cotton piece documented those details at roughly €650 retail, but that describes another shirt), and whether the anti-wrinkle finish survives repeated washing. Sourcing claims on a $7.01 article and boutique construction notes should not be assumed to describe each other.

The listing copy is machine-translated and aimed at "teens seeking a sporty, relaxed look." Treat the fabric weight, the colour code list and the tolerance figure as the real specification, and treat the rest as marketing.

The brand channel is a separate question

If you are weighing this row against buying from the label directly, factor in that the official Maison Margiela webstore carries a poor Trustpilot rating of 2.6 / 5, with roughly 76 percent of reviews at one star and most complaints about fulfilment and customer service. That says nothing about this listing, but it does remove "just buy it from the brand" as an easy fallback for a sizing argument.

How we would keep this row in a sheet

  1. Store the bare Weidian item ID, not the old agent wrapper.
  2. Re-open the listing the day you order; check the code and size in the selector, not in the description.
  3. Record the flat chest measurement from QC photos or ask the agent for one before consolidation.
  4. Note the code name in full — black 29 and black 41 are different garments.

Two units, one seller, one live ID and a scale reading: the row is real, the price is real, and the only thing that stays unresolved is which letter on the label corresponds to which body. That is fixable with a tape measure, and not fixable by reading the listing again.

Does item ID 7718798570 still resolve?
Yes — the Weidian listing page loads under that ID and carries the same product name and colour menu. But the variant selector renders in the browser, so confirm code, size and stock after selecting before you pay.
Is $7.01 the full delivered price?
No. It is the item price only, shown against a $7.98 original. Agent service fees, domestic shipping and international freight are added, and two tees still weighed under 500 g, so freight was modest on our route.
How do the S–XL letters map to Maison Margiela's numeric sizes?
They are not formally linked. Brand-level reporting puts a numeric 46 at a comfortable medium, and brand charts list S at a 36-inch chest through XL at 46–48; our size M flat chest of 53.5 cm sits closest to a roomy 46-equivalent. Ask for flat measurements.

Editor verdict

A midweight 250 g cotton tee at $7.01 with clean print edges and a genuinely loose cut; the row verifies, but the size lettering still needs a flat-measurement check before you pay.
