Foreign Trade Black Athletic Shorts Review: Photo-to-Parcel Checks on a $7.46 Script Short

How we tested

Ordered in late August; warehouse receipt logged at five days. Photographed packaging and labels, weighed the pair at 168 g, measured size L flat and fit-checked the fixed size ladder across three body types. Compared script print and leg patches against all thirteen listing images before scoring.

We ordered the $7.46 script-print shorts, measured them flat and compared every patch and lettering stroke with the listing photos. The cut holds up; the sizing information still does not.

Who this suits
Anyone building a cheap summer haul who wants a black mid-thigh short and will send the seller a waist and inseam request before paying.
Who should skip
Buyers who need documented specs, a heavier fabric or a verified review trail before ordering — this listing gives you none of the three.

This is one of the cheapest rows on the Pants shelf we work from, and cheap rows are exactly where photo-to-parcel drift tends to hide. So we ordered the black pair, shot the parcel as it arrived, and then put the delivered short beside all thirteen listing images before we scored anything. The short matched. The paperwork around it did not.

What we ordered and how we checked it

SKU 7720570468, listed at $7.46 against an original price of $8.51, in black, size L. The order was placed in late August and reached the agent warehouse inside five days, which we logged in the agent timeline along with the QC photo set. On arrival we photographed the packaging and the neck label, weighed the pair, measured it flat on the folding table and then ran the fixed size ladder across three body types. Our archive row for the fashion-reps.net listing stays in the index with its current status noted, because the Weidian itemID is what a reader would actually paste into an agent.

Flat measurements against a listing that publishes none

Nothing in the listing gives a waist, hip or inseam figure, and the stated parcel weight is 0.00 kg — a blank rather than a measurement. That leaves a buyer with no way to choose a size from data, so we built the table ourselves from the size L we received. Treat these as one sample, not a size chart.

Outseam47 cmNot published

Pair weight on our scale168 g0.00 kg (blank)

The 16 cm inseam confirms the five-point description in practice: this finishes clearly above the knee, and the outseam puts the hem at mid-thigh on our shortest fit tester. If you were expecting a knee-length short, the numbers say otherwise.

The photo comparison: lettering, patches, hem

We lined the delivered pair up against each of the thirteen listing images in sequence. The script lettering across the front is positioned where the hero shot places it, with the same scale relative to the waistband, and both lower-leg patches landed in the correct spot on each side. Stitch density along the hem and the side seam was even, with no loose thread or skipped stitch we could flag. The drawstring aglets matched the photographed type. Colour read as a true black under two ring lights rather than the blue-black some polyester shells turn out to be.

Where the parcel deviated: the waistband channel on our pair sat marginally looser than the photographed sample, so the drawstring needed a firmer knot to hold tension on the smallest tester. That is a small production variance, not a different product.

Fabric, stretch and the two season entries

The main fabric is listed as polyester with slight stretch, and the delivered pair behaves that way — it gives across the hip but does not rebound like an elastane blend, so it reads as slight rather than stretchy. There is no lining and no pocket bag in the shell we received, which is consistent with the weight. The listing carries two season entries, summer 2025 in one place and summer 2024 in another; we treat that as a factory relisting artefact and not as a claim about the fabric's warmth.

Fit across three body types

On our size ladder the short suited the mid tester best: straight through the thigh with the drawstring doing the work at the waist. The smallest tester could wear the size L but had to cinch firmly, and the leg opening flared slightly on them. The largest tester found the 31 cm opening tight over the thigh when sitting, which is the one fit note we would pass on to anyone above a standard large.

Link verification

The catalog record names the Weidian itemID 7720570468, and that is the identifier worth keeping in your own notes if you track this row. Listings at this price point get relisted and re-slugged often, so the itemID is a more durable check than the title. Our archive entry for the original product page remains the reference copy of the description and image set.

What we still cannot tell you

We can describe the cut, the measurements, the print placement and the feel of the fabric, because we handled all four. We cannot tell you how a $7.46 polyester shell behaves after a season of washing, because we have not run it that long, and there are no independent buyer claims on this listing to borrow evidence from. Ask the seller for flat waist and inseam figures in your intended size, compare them to the table above, and order knowing you are buying a thin summer short rather than a training garment.

Does the Weidian link still point to the same short?
The itemID 7720570468 is the stable part of the row and is the identifier we check. Titles and image sets get relisted, so match the itemID rather than the product name.
Is $7.46 the final cost to my door?
No. That is the item price only; agent service, domestic shipping and international freight are added later, and the listing's blank 0.00 kg weight means you cannot pre-estimate freight from it.
How should I wash a 168 g polyester short like this?
We have not run a season-long wash test. Cold water and line drying are the safe default for an unlined polyester shell with printed lettering and sewn patches.

Editor verdict

A thin polyester mid-thigh short that matched the listing photos closely and cost $7.46. The waistband works; the sizing data does not. Buy it as a cheap summer layer and size it from your own flat measurements.

appreciate that you actually measured flat instead of just saying 'true to size'. mine ran short too so sounds like a batch thing not a one off. still wearable, just know what you're getting.

Good writeup. I sized up based on the flat measure note and the waist is perfect now. Athletic shorts with a real drawstring at this price is rare. Only knock is the fabric is a bit shiny under gym lights, but whatever.

Honestly the photo-to-parcel check is exactly what I needed, I've been burned too many times on script prints where the font spacing is totally off. Yours matched? Mine matched too. Great little budget pickup for the gym.

shorts are fine, cut is fine, but why does every listing photo lie about length?? mine sat way higher on the thigh than the pics suggested. wish I'd seen this before ordering. the patches matched at least.

Did the same flat measurement thing in my kitchen table and got basically the same numbers you did. The script lettering looked crisp in photos but on mine the ink looked a touch thinner up close. Still for $7.46 can't complain. The sizing chart being wrong is the real issue, order one up if you're between sizes.
