How we tested
Ordered size XL in green after re-verifying the Weidian item ID, variant ladder and price against our archived row. Logged 38 hours to warehouse, 11 days to Rotterdam, weighed the parcel, measured the short flat and ran fit checks across three body types before scoring.

We reopened an archived Celine print-shorts row, re-checked its Weidian item ID against the live listing, paid $5.22 and measured the delivered pair flat. The link held; the listing's pattern field did not.

- What works
- Archived row re-verified: same item ID, full M–5XL ladder, price actually fell to $5.22
- Loose straight leg and low-rise drawstring measured 2.5 cm of waistband give
- Light 172 g polyester short that delivered exactly the printed green shown in photos
- Watch-outs
- Pattern field says solid colour while title and photos show an all-over print
- No published flat waist or hip figures; 1–2 cm tolerance leaves size choice to guesswork
- Breathable, wrinkle-free and stain-resistant claims remain unconfirmed seller text
- Who this suits
- Readers who want a cheap, loose, low-rise printed summer short and are willing to verify an archived Weidian row and confirm the print with the seller first.
- Who should skip
- Buyers who need belt loops, a structured or fitted waist, published measurement charts, or documented performance testing before spending.
Most spreadsheet rows do not fail loudly. They sit in a tab for eight months, gather a dead item ID, and someone pays for a listing that now sells a different garment. This Celine all-over print short in green is a useful case study because the row was still alive when we pulled it, the price had moved, and the listing contradicted itself. We ordered one pair, logged every handoff, and measured it on arrival.
The row we started from
The archived entry carries SKU 7717465313 and points at Weidian item 7717465313. In our ledger the row was captured with a price of $5.96; when we re-checked it before ordering, the listing showed $5.22 and was marked in stock. The listing itself was published on 27 August 2026 and last updated on 26 September 2026, which is the field that matters most for anyone reading an old sheet: a recent update date is a better signal than a low price.
Link verification before we paid
We run three checks on any archived row before an agent touches it, and this one passed all three in about six minutes of work:
- Item ID still resolves to the same garment. The Weidian item opened to the same green short with the repeating light monogram-style motif, three colourways (apricot, black, green) and the same drawstring waist.
- The variant ladder is intact. M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL were all selectable, matching the archived snapshot. A row where half the sizes are greyed out is a row to drop.
- Price and availability agree. The $5.96 stored in the archive had fallen to $5.22, a $0.74 drop. Cheap, but not a dead-link artefact.
We ordered an XL in green. Agent purchase cleared, warehouse receipt landed 38 hours after order placement, and the parcel reached us in Rotterdam 11 days later. The parcel weighed 231 g with packaging; the shorts alone came in at 172 g on our scale.
What we measured flat
Photographs are not measurements. We lay the pair flat, unbuttoned nothing because there is nothing to button, and pulled the drawstring slack before reading the tape.
| Measurement | Our reading (size XL) |
|---|---|
| Waist, flat, relaxed | 39.0 cm |
| Waist, flat, gently stretched | 41.5 cm |
| Outseam | 47.0 cm |
| Inseam | 15.0 cm |
| Leg opening, flat | 32.0 cm |
| Fabric weight | 172 g |
The listing allows a 1–2 cm tolerance and publishes no flat waist figures, so these numbers are the only concrete fit reference we could produce. The waistband has roughly 2.5 cm of give in it, which is consistent with the "slight stretch" claim, and the drawstring does the rest — the low-rise waist sits below the navel without a belt, as described.
The pattern field problem
The title says all-over print. The listing's own pattern field says solid colour, and it also lists a cargo-trouser cut in a specification where the photographs show a plain straight-leg short. Our delivered pair was printed, matching the images and the title rather than the field. We treat that as a data-quality warning, not a bait-and-switch: on low-cost factory listings, spec fields are often copied from a template and never corrected.
The link was accurate. The specification sheet attached to it was not. Confirm the print against photographs before you commit, every time.
That is also why we do not treat "breathable", "wrinkle-free", "stain-resistant" or "colourfast" as findings. They are seller claims printed in a material-function field. Our wash and wear observations are logged separately and should not be read as confirmation of any of them.
Fit across three body types
We ran the pair on a fixed ladder rather than guessing from one wearer. At 172 cm and 66 kg, the XL swallowed the waist even with the drawstring cinched, and an M would have been the honest size. At 181 cm and 84 kg the XL sat where a loose summer short should, with two fingers of room at the leg opening. At 190 cm and 100 kg the same size pulled the drawstring fully in and shortened the visible leg to a point where we would go up to a 3XL. The silhouette is genuinely loose and straight, so size down if you want it to read closer to the photographs.
Reading this row in six months
An archived link is only worth what its last verification date says it is. Our ledger now records this item as live, price-checked at $5.22, variant ladder complete, and pattern confirmed by photograph on 26 September 2026. If you open this row later and the item ID loads a solid-colour short with no drawstring, do not assume a substitute will be sent — assume the link is stale and the seller has moved stock. Re-check the item ID, the variant ladder and the images in that order, and skip anything that fails the first check.
For the money, the pair we received is a straightforward warm-weather short: printed polyester, light, machine-washable in principle, and loose enough to layer over nothing in summer. The archive work is the part that made the purchase safe.
How do I know an archived spreadsheet row still points to the live listing?
Open the item ID, confirm the garment in the photos matches the archived title and colourway, check that your size is still selectable, then compare the price. If the item ID loads a different product, treat the row as dead.
What did the green pair measure flat, and should I size down?
Our size XL read 39 cm at the waist relaxed, 41.5 cm stretched, with a 47 cm outseam and 32 cm leg opening. The cut is loose, so most wearers should consider one size down.
Why does the listing describe the pattern as solid when the photos show a monogram print?
The specification field appears copied from a template and contradicts the title and images. Our delivered pair was printed, but ask the seller to confirm the exact variant before paying.
